IN THE TERZIERE DI MEZZO THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS FEATURE ELEMENTS OF HISTORICAL INTEREST AND OFFER EXCELLENT FOOD AND WINE

PONTE - (Palazzo Guicciardi-Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque houses, the Church of Sant Maurizio in piazza Luini, the Museo Contadino in the Jesuit complex beside the Church of Sant Ignazio that dates to the end of the XVI century.)

PONTE IN VALTELLINA - PLEASE SEE THE FOLLOWING LINKS: http://percorsiculturali.cmsondrio.it/ponte/

CHIURO (Palazzo Quadrio de’ Maria Pontaschelli, the Gandola-Quadrio house, largo Besta de’ Gatti, overlooked by the tower-house of the XV-XVIl Casa Cilichinla, the noble Casa Gatti.

TEGLIO (Palazzo Besta- Palazzo Besta, the "Little Palace in the Alps", pearl of the noble Tellina history, with its splendid Renaissance courtyard and striking halls full of frescos, (which can be fully visited and also host the archaeological and ethnographic museum) is flanked by other important buildings, such as the quiet, stern-looking Palazzo Ongania or the cultured, meditative Palazzo Juvalta (both recently restructured and open to the public as accommodation). These noble dwellings form part of the district once known as "Bellamira" for its incomparable view over the valley and the Bergamo Alps behind it, which can still be enjoyed today from the sun-kissed viewpoints of these architectural jewels.

Together with these, Palazzo Cattani Morelli with its fairytale ballroom and Palazzo Piatti-Reghanzani with its ever-present mottoes and eclectic decorations, complete a unique range of stately buildings in the mountain area of Valtellina.

Chiuro, Ponte and Teglio are the three locations in Valtellina where visitors can taste the best pizzocheri, sciatt and polenta taragna, washed down with the best local wines.
